Disco Party – Privacy Policy
Disco Party is an Android app that turns compatible color smart bulbs connected to an IKEA DIRIGERA hub into a color light show. It works entirely on your home network. We do not collect, store, transmit or sell any personal information.
Data we collect
None. The app has no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising SDKs, no crash reporting and no cloud backend. We never receive any data from your device.
Data stored on your device only
- Hub pairing token – issued by your own DIRIGERA hub when you press its Action button. It is encrypted with a key generated inside the Android Keystore and kept in the app's private, non-backed-up storage. It never leaves your phone.
- Your settings – selected lamps, palettes, intervals and transition style.
- Recovery snapshot – the original color, brightness and power of the selected lamps, so they can be restored after a party.
All of this is deleted when you uninstall the app. App backup and device-to-device transfer are disabled, so this data is not copied to Google or to a new phone.
Network access
The app communicates only with your DIRIGERA hub over your local Wi-Fi network (HTTPS to the hub's local address, and mDNS discovery of the hub). It makes no connection to any internet server operated by us or by third parties.
Permissions
INTERNET,ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE,CHANGE_WIFI_MULTICAST_STATE– local network access to find and control the hub.FOREGROUND_SERVICE,FOREGROUND_SERVICE_CONNECTED_DEVICE,WAKE_LOCK– keep a party running while the screen is off, with a visible notification and a Stop button.POST_NOTIFICATIONS– show that notification. You can decline; Stop stays available inside the app.
Our website
This policy covers the app. Our marketing website (discoparty.xyz) uses Mixpanel to count page views and button clicks so we can see whether the site is useful. That analytics runs only on the website, respects your browser's "Do Not Track" and Global Privacy Control signals, does not record your IP address, and is never present in the app.
Children
The app is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone.
Third parties
Disco Party is not affiliated with or endorsed by IKEA. It talks to your hub using the hub's local interface. No third party receives data through the app.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published at this address with a new effective date.
